EverNatal Batch Recall FAQs

1. Why is there a recall for EverNatal?

This recall applies solely to Batch 43311 of EverNatal 60 capsules, due to an inconsistency in iodine dosing. A manufacturing issue resulted in the iodine not being evenly distributed throughout the capsules, which could lead to either lower or higher levels of iodine in individual capsules than intended. Several brands have been impacted.

2. What are the potential effects?

Inconsistent iodine levels may lead to:

  • Too little iodine: which can result in iodine deficiency

  • Too much iodine: which may cause symptoms such as:

    • Nausea or vomiting

    • Diarrhoea

    • Burning in the mouth or throat

    • In rare and extreme cases: airway swelling, weak pulse, or other serious effects

To date, no adverse events have been reported. If you’re experiencing any symptoms or have concerns, please consult your healthcare professional.

3. Are other batches or products affected?

No. This issue is limited to batch 43311 of EverNatal 60 capsules. All other batches and Naternal products remain unaffected and safe to use.

4. Was this a manufacturing issue by Naternal?

The issue originated during the manufacturing process by our trusted TGA-licensed contract manufacturer. While they produce for many reputable Australian brands, this particular batch was impacted by variability in raw ingredient handling. We are working closely with them to ensure this does not happen again.

5. What is being done to ensure this doesn’t happen again?

Our manufacturer has committed to enhancing their quality assurance protocols, including more stringent testing of raw materials, especially for microdosed nutrients like iodine. These improvements are designed to prevent any recurrence of this issue.

6. What are the alternatives I can take?

If you're currently using EverNatal Batch 43311, we recommend discontinuing use and either:

  • Returning the product to your place of purchase for a refund, or

  • Contacting our customer service for a replacement.

If you’d like personalised supplement support during this time, please speak with your healthcare provider.
