Taking a good prenatal through pregnancy is one of those things we know matters.
Folate. Choline. Iodine. B12. Vitamin D. The list goes on.
They’re nutrients your body has increased requirements for during this season, and EverNatal was formulated to help cover those nutritional foundations through preconception, pregnancy and postpartum.
But there’s another part of the picture that your prenatal simply isn’t designed to address.
Your flora.
And during pregnancy and postpartum, there’s a lot more going on there than you might realise.
We’re not just talking about your gut
When you hear the word probiotic, chances are you immediately think about gut health.
But through pregnancy and postpartum, there are multiple microbial environments worth thinking about.
Your gut. Your vaginal flora. Your urinary tract. And, once you’re breastfeeding, your breasts.
And here’s the important part:
They don’t all need the same probiotic strains.
That distinction is one of the reasons we created MotherBloom.
Because “probiotic” doesn’t tell you the whole story
Walk into a chemist and you’ll find plenty of probiotics promising billions and billions of CFUs.
But a bigger number on the front of the bottle doesn’t necessarily tell you whether that probiotic has been formulated for what you need right now.
Probiotic research is strain-specific.
That means two probiotics can contain the same species of bacteria, but different strains — and those strains may have been researched for completely different purposes.
It’s why we don’t think a label that simply says Lactobacillus rhamnosus and gives you a giant CFU number tells you enough.
The letters and numbers after the species name matter.
MotherBloom contains four specifically selected, fully named strains — each there for a reason.
So, what’s actually inside MotherBloom?
L. rhamnosus GR-1 + L. reuteri RC-14
These two work together to help maintain healthy vaginal flora and microflora and help maintain urinary tract health in females.
That’s support a general gut probiotic may not have been specifically formulated to provide.
L. rhamnosus HN001
HN001 helps maintain healthy immune system function and intestinal health.
It also helps reduce the occurrence of symptoms of mild eczema and dermatitis, including in children.
L. fermentum CECT5716
This strain becomes particularly relevant once you’re breastfeeding.
CECT5716 helps decrease and relieve symptoms of mild mastitis and helps reduce the occurrence of symptoms of mild mastitis.
It’s a completely different job — which is exactly why we wanted a strain specifically selected for this stage.
And then there are antibiotics
Sometimes antibiotics are necessary during pregnancy, birth or postpartum.
MotherBloom helps maintain beneficial gut flora during antibiotic use and helps restore beneficial gut flora afterwards.
So rather than reaching for a completely different probiotic every time your needs change, MotherBloom was designed with the broader pregnancy-to-postpartum journey in mind.
So… do you need a prenatal or a probiotic?
This is the part we really want women to understand:
They’re not interchangeable.
And one isn't there to replace the other.
Your prenatal and your probiotic are doing two completely different jobs.
EverNatal provides nutritional support through preconception, pregnancy and postpartum, with nutrients including 550mg choline, methyl-folate, iodine, B12, vitamin D and more.
MotherBloom provides targeted probiotic support, with four specifically selected strains to support different needs through pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Think of it as:
EverNatal = nutrients.
MotherBloom = flora.
Two different pieces of the same season.
Nutrients, meet flora.
Always read the label and follow the directions for use. Vitamin and mineral supplements should not replace a balanced diet. If symptoms persist, talk to your health professional.
